Finally
Can't keep off the subject but........ "prior regime changes by the U.S. brought to power among a long list of tyrants, such leaders as the shah of iran, Mobutu in the Congo, Pinochet in Chile, all replacing democratically elected heads of government."..[ Ramsey Clark].

Dante and the inferno.
Dante found the hottest places in the inferno were reserved for those who in times of moral crisis did nothing...........it behoves us all to resist the madness of this time. This is a time for action.

Ramsey Clark
Ramsey Clark is a former attorney general of the United States...this is a quote from a letter he wrote to Kofi Annan on the 20th of september 2002..." as govenor of Texas , George Bush presided over scores of executions , more than any other govenor in the U.S. since the death penalty was reinstated in 1976 {after a hiatus from 1967 }. He revealed the same zeal he has shown for regime change for Iraq when he oversaw the executions of minors, women , retarded persons ,and aliens whose rights under the Vienna convention on diplomatic relations of notification of their arrest to a foreign mission of their nationality were violated. The supreme court of the U.S. held that executions of mentally retarded person constitute cruel and unusual punishment in violation of the U.S. constitution."....and this is the man that the Prime Minister of Australia John Howard is snivelling up to.......

and furthermore.
and furthermore a huge applause to Michael Moore for his courage in standing up at the academy awards and giving a hugh broadside to the Bush administration for its callous disregard of the sanctity of human life....my admiration for such truly great americans like Noam Chomsky, Ramsey Clark and the international solutions movement, is immense ,and I thank them from the bottom of my heart for their courage in standing up against the stupidity of the neo-conservative think tank that is driving this pathological ,phallocentric agenda in Iraq. I am in no doubt about the extra-ordinary fortitude it would take to stand up in the manner that Michael Moore did....thank you ..thank you ...thank you....he is a truly great american.

mothers and sons
mothers do not grow their sons to be cannon fodder for the "decent men"...that is a major lesson of the twentieth century. Why did we not learn this ?

the decent...sic
These so called decent men who waffle on about gods will and national destiny directed by god its just so pathetic.... all human ....all human ...absolutely all human beings are connected and the death of one is the death of us all in some sense...we all have a story that connects us deeply to others so that the loss of a life sends ripples that affects many others....so i decry these so called decent men who divide the world into the goodies and the baddies....how banal .what a limited view. its all just fear driven guff. Don't let these so called decent men persuade you of their moral rightness..the world is so much more complex than they can ever comprehend and in that they will never really understand simplicity....... foolishness now prevails but their time will come....John Howard you will pay dearly in your soul for this and god will not help you... you are a murderer.

meaningless loss
The newspapers and television are trumpeting the death of 650 iraq soldiers in battle yesterday as though that is something to be proud of....so disgusting ....the inane meaningless killing is a tragedy and I despair for our loss of humanity.

Bertrand Russell
A hand written eleventh commandment found in Bertrand Russell's bible after his death read as follows ' Thou shalt not follow the multitude to do evil "....... and further Voltaire said..... those that believe in absurdities will committ atrocities..... 45 percent of americans believe thar iraq was directly responsible for the WTC bombings....despite the contrary nature of any evidence....we Australians have blood on our hands..... What the fuck are we doing and where are our so called leaders taking us..... we will be held responsible for the death of many innocent lives....shame...shame...shame.

mildly disastrous days.
I am sick, I have the flue, the gear box in my car has blown itself to smithereens and for me it is a mildly disastrous time.... for the world this is perhaps one of the most serious days I can remember....war is imminent and that is sad....

Thinking with my hands
The most important and successful thinking that I do is with my hands. My hands have a wonderful stream of consciousness that is abundant and truly playful. I love my hands enourmously , they are so generous to me.

Andrew Wilkie
A huge applause for Andrew Wilkie from the office of national assessments for his moral stand on Australian involvment in the Iraq war..... his courage in denouncing this crime against humanity is extremely courageous..... John Howard should be charged in the Hague for war crimes if Australia's involvement in the war is found to be in contravention of the U.N. charter and innocent civilian lives are lost in this unneccesary barbarity.

Corrigan
I am always boggled at how unaware of our giants we are...... Peter Corrigan is a classic case ...this extraordinary australian architect and theatre designer is hardly a household name... while our culture celebrates someone like Shane Warne ,who recently admitted on television that he had never read a book , because he can bowl a ball........ strange cultural values we have...
