International peace movement active today and everyday....
 The International Peace movement is having a Global vigil today and I thank all who support them in condemning the Iraq invasion...I have been wondering for months about what has happened to Taraq Aziz the former deputy primeminister of Iraq....he was very much the public face of Iraq particularly to the 'west'...he always claimed that Iraq had dismantled its WMD capabilities....and it seems he was telling the truth..I would like to hear what he would have to say about the invasion from his standpoint now...very interesting but I do not imagine we will ever hear from him again ?...

 Bush claims the world has been made safer by the Iraq invasion...who is he trying to kid ?..What a joke !..John Howard claims the world is a "safer more optimistic place !...Who is he trying to kid ?...and Alexander Downer , Australia's foreign minister is a laughing stoc.. Bush totally fails in U.N. support bid !
 Bush failed dismally at U.N. because he is totally blind to the ramifications of his actions...Kofi Annan is to be congratulated for his principled stand against pre-emptive war, the injustice of which is so clearly illustrated by the Iraq debacle....it is easy to squash a country by millitary muscle but not so easy to then unsquash...as if Vietnam did not already illustrate the problemn...when you then lose the confidence of your own people as is evidenced by recent polls , desperation sets in..and Bush is desperate to try to hang on for another four years.... I don't think he will succeed...and throwing money at it will not ultimately succeed...and watching Rumsfeld dodge difficult questions of mandate at the senate estimates committee made me realise what a bunch of ostriches with their heads in the sand the Bush administration is... Condoleeza Rice was so unconvincing in her critique of the French position !

Paul Bremner a bummer...Iraq nightmare..
 Watched an interview with Paul Bremner on Jim Lehrer's Newshour and was struck by his ideological approach to his administration of the Iraq nightmare...the Bush waffle of freedom and liberty streaming from his mouth..stupid , stupid , stupid.....it is so clear that this situation is unravelling and flying off the rails yet these stupid ideologues are stubbornly holding their line despite the obvious....so they spend another 86 billion over the next year do they really believe that they will not have to spend even more the next year and the year after that...they have no solutions...and the American people will have all that money pissed away....imagine if that money was spent on providing universal health system or utilities infrastructure ...it is so easy to piss away billions on stupidity..it takes real courage to have imagination and these fools have none !

Coalition citizens are becoming increasingly aware that they have been misled !
 Polls in all three coalition nations ,Britain, Australia , and the U.S. are showing conclusively that their citizens are becoming increasingly aware that they were misled over the Iraq invasion....for Bush and Blair this means that they are looking perilously terminal { three cheers for their demise}....I watched another amazing report on Australia's incomparable current affairs program Dateline last night which was examining the increasing disquiet among millitary personnel in the U.S....a new movement "bring them home now" has sprung up in certain millitary towns...I wish them well and much success..the tragic loss of one's loved one's in an unneccessary war , an illegitimate war , an immoral war is gut wrenching.....I am often accused of being anti-american which is totally untrue....I have a hugh respect and regard for the U.S., their is so much about it's art , culture .and ideas that I love so much, that rocks my boat but I am totally disgusted by the Bush administration which has cast our planet into the most desperate straits...this bullying and callous President who seized power by slight of hand and the manipulations of his brother Jeb should ,along with members of his administration , be held responsible for crimes against humanity !

Another massacre of innocent civilians in Iraq...
 A U.S. air and land attack in Iraq has killed 3 innocent civilians and wounded 3,including 2 teenage boys whose father was killed. This was then explained away by an incompetent Australian officer, Lt Noble as being a natural outcome of armed attacks.....well I do not think that is good enough.....what is the value of a human life ?....what is the deeper significance of the deaths of innocent humans ?.....these are important questions that cannot be answered by the sophistry of stupid millitary doctrine or politcal ideology...they provide no insight into the mystery of human existence....and are mere justifications for barbarity and misery....and to all those conservative arseholes who have been plagueing my site..fuck off!

Coalition invasion fuels Iraq illicit drug trade....
The invasion of Iraq has fueled a terrible new illicit drug trade, particularly in Baghdad. According to the guardian , an epidemic of cheap narcotics is making thugs more aggressive and life far more perilous for the Iraqi population.....I am sitting here looking at a tragic picture of extremely young children sniffing glue....given that drug use was almost non existent prior to the invasion it is a disgusting indictment on the coalition claim that they are liberating the Iraqi people...

U.S. failure to support Arafat in security council resolution is insane...
 I make a point of not discussing the Israel/Palestinian conflict because of the enourmous historical complexity...however I do believe that any attempt to exile or assassinate Mr Arafat would be like pouring petrol on an already burning flame...the failure of the U.S. not to support a resolution to protect Mr Arafat is absolutely insane and reveals their real lack of committment to finding a middle east solution... U.S. administrations have never had the intellectual rigour to really see through attempts to broker a peace deal...and George Bush has neither the integrity or the intellect and courage necessary to lead in this conundrum...!

 One of the little discussed issues currently plagueing Iraq is the huge civilian population suffering from post traumatic stress disorders as a consequence of the invasion...both the physical and mental health of the Iraq population have been severely affected by the coalition invasion....and the injustice of that will probably never be considered...human neglect on that scale is made excusable by our political leaders....and our vested interest media organisations....!

Pre-war intelligence advised a far different rationale...Iraq war crime!
 A British parliamentary commitee has found that intelligence agencies, prior to the war, advised coalition governments that they believed that an invasion of Iraq was more likely to exacerbate terrorism rather than to lessen it.....the coalition despite this advice argued the opposite and further preceded to commit a humanitarian outrage by committing a terrible war crime....the invasion of Iraq was a brutal political act with no redeeming moral or ethical purpose and we should feel deeply ashamed of our governments actionc......I am outraged that my government has used my taxes to finance these horrific actions !

9/11 short films deepen the discussion..artists bring important insight to us...
 Last night I watched a range of short films examining the tragedy of 9/11...it was extra-ordinarily refreshing to see the wonderful ways in which artists from so many different cultures had been affected by the horror of that terrible day and yet were able to so deepen the discussion in ways that politicians , generals and idiots just have not been capable of....so to all those filmmakers I say thank you so very much...thank you for taking us beyond the jingoistic and the ideological blindness of the millitary complex !

 The attempts by some millitary analyst's and generals to continue talking up wmd's in Iraq is pitiful....there can be no doubt of the hoax perpetrated by neo-con hawks prior to the invasion.....the Hutton inquiry has made it quite clear that there has been a distinct exaggeration of the wmd threat...in Australia, the government has leaked highly sensitive intelligence material in a shallow attempt to undermine the testimony of Andrew Wilkie at a senate inquiry into the wmd intelligence prior to the war....it will be interesting to see the findings of the Iraq survey group which will be releasing it's findings very soon....what is so pathetic has been the sly way in which the wmd issue has been displaced by the media as if it does not matter whether there were any such weapons or not....but that is not surprising given the vested interest's media groups have in weapons research and proliferation... Hans Blix now tends to think that Iraq destoyed such weapons in 1992 as it has said.

 According to the coalition prior to the Iraq invasion the U.N. and the security council were irrelevant....particularly because France, Germany and Russia { old Europe according to Rumsfeld } had the moral fortitude to not be sucked into the criminality of the war mongering Hawks behind the U.S. administration....now however the tables have turned as the Iraq invasion goes sadly astray and that nation has been turned into a rubbish heap that cannot be sustainably made secure....the coalition are now crawling to the U.N. to save their arses.....the U.N. should take a hard line on this as any U.S. led compromise is destined to fail...unless the coalition set an immediate timetable for their withdrawal bloodshed will just continue....As British parliamentarian Glenda Jackson points out it is the poor infantry men who pay the price for the idiocy of their leaders...

Afghanistan bankrupt ..great job of nation building...now Iraq ?
 The U.S. administration have failed totally in Afghanistan as resistance grows daily in that country....the new Afghanistan govt is a joke holed up in Kabul....and Bankrupt!....meanwhile the rest of the country is in turmoil with the Taliban { idiot bhuddist statue destroyers } making a significant comeback....the attempt at nation building has been a complete failure ....why should Iraq be anything different...the U.S. millitary have a flair for hi tech " shock and awe " butchery but are useless peacemakers...

 Donald Rumsfeld on visiting Baghdad made the startling claim that security in Iraq has "leveled" out in the last few weeks...given that these weeks involved both the bombings of the U.N. and the Najaf temple his words seem utterly ridiculous.....and designed more to convince himself more than others....the coalition face absolute disaster in Iraq unless the U.N. bails them out.....the utter selfishness of the coalition leadership is appalling and as their war narrative runs off the rails the more bizarrely they will attempt to defend themselves in the indefenceable crime they have committed....

United Nation should bargain hard against Coalition....

Quagmire in Iraq forces U.S. compromise with U.N......the irony !
 The deepening quagmire in Iraq has forced the U.S. to consider a compromise to the U.N. so that it might provide millitary personnel to assist in the 'reconstruction' [ha ha ] of Iraq...the fact that the U.S. and other coalition parties trashed the U.N. and in particular the Security council in the lead up to the war makes this change of heart look like an admission that they have at the very least made a serios mistake ....watching Colin Powell looking incredibly embarrassed and uncomfortable whilst discussing this issue indicates a profound shift in the U.S. administration....a mixture of heads buried in the sand and panic that the train is coming of the rails...and a six billion dollar liability per month for the foreseeable future...ridiculously unsustainable...!

U.S. millitary fighting war whilst on drugs...further alienates Iraqi people...
 Fighting war on go pills {dexy amphetamines} only exacerbates the situation in Iraq...it provides no confidence that millitary personnel are clearly using their judgement...this in itself undermines the confidence of the population in their security.....the use of "armed medication" is an outrageous obscenity and should be judged as immoral....the use of these drugs should be judged a war crime of itself....these drugs are a primary cause of friendly fire deaths....and innocent civilians suffer....

U.S. must withdraw from Iraq....
 The situation in Iraq is becoming more dire ...the situation is so serious with the possibility of a terrible civil war errupting at anytime...the U.S. and Britain are increasingly finding themselves in an impossible situation .....if we are to have learnt anything from the 20th centiry it is the impossibility of 'winning ' wars...the so called victory of May has fast become the nightmare of September and the likelihood of more unnecessary bloodshed should be upper most in all our minds...the invasion of Iraq was a tragic and immoral act of pre-emptive war that has gone horribly wrong...the coalition need to internationalise the situation by giving the U.N. security council plus the pan arab league a mandate to take responsibility for the disaster....there is seems no other solution...the Iraqi people need to be given the opportunity to hold elections as soon as is possible or a further bloodbath will ensue...

Rumsfeld talks shit...
 Donald Rumsfeld made the startling allegation that the focus of news reports on Iraq are concentrating on the bad news and that the good news is being ignored...well what a pile of crap...the news media like Fox, CBS , CNN ect ect have been prowar all along in fact these same organisations have vested interests in weapons technology....the reality of the matter is that there is no good news in Iraq , there never was and never will be...the whole thing is a total disaster....the coalition of the willing should withdraw from Iraq and the U.N. should be mandated to seek to bring order to a country made wretched by the coalition....

 The bombing in Najaf has just deepened the disaster unfolding in Iraq....the terrible loss of life and injury is crushing the hospital system...the coalition have a responsibility to maintain the security of the Iraqi people but instead they put their hands in the air and effect nothing....both the U.S. and British millitary are also sustaining daily loss of life....the situation in Iraq is fast spinning out of total control....the U.S. will being having to foot a bill of hundreds of billions of dollars over the next few years....was it worth it ?
