Theatre is life…life is dance…theatre is life…theatre
is a living four dimensional art form of limitless flexibility.
I conceive of pathways etched in spacetime that lead from moments
prior to the first rehearsal , through a performance with audience
and those wistful closing nights, to more moments , like embers
in heart ,mind and body that inhabit my life thereafter.
All the theatre I have made is a living entity in the fabric of
spacetime that acts as glue of varying quality…..theatre binds
us ! When that glue is powerful strong stuff. ah … then you
know theatre. This kind of chemistry, that kind of clarity is rare
stuff…I have made much of flour and water yet I aspire to
a stronger binding material…and that possibility…
Theatre should be a living four dimensional art form of limitless
flexibility that should not be bound by mere affectation of : the
natural , the real , the stylistic , the sensational , the mystic
, the concerned , the unconcerned , the religious , the beautiful
or the ugly or whatever…but be a medium that avails itself
of ‘all of it’ and is phenomenal in spacetime.
Theatre is uncanny life… a life of chance…life is
dance and theatre is life….Theatre is a living four dimensional
art form of limitless flexibility. |
