I was the set designer for the Map Folding project. The
design concept was hugely conceptual as well as material, and Tam
and I were able to find a way to interlock her conceptual paradigm
with mine. This was a very successful first project in an area that
I would like to explore much further. I was thinking a lot about
Moholy-Nagy and a little less about Jasper Johns - the former in
particular relationship to photograms and his ideas about luminescence.
